Alta Mira Recovery Programs
Clinical depth over amenities. Residential treatment for complex co-occurring disorders in Sausalito, California.
Admissions Available 24/7
About
- Founded in 2010
Alta Mira Recovery Programs is a 24-bed residential treatment center in Sausalito, California, serving adults with substance use disorders and complex co-occurring mental health conditions. Located in Marin County, minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco, the program admits clients nationally and internationally.
Alta Mira is built around clinical depth rather than amenities. For its size, the facility maintains an unusually high ratio of clinicians, psychiatrists, physicians, doctoral-level psychologists, and nurse practitioners, which allows the team to accept complex and high-acuity presentations that many residential programs cannot support. Areas of particular clinical strength include co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders, trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance-induced psychosis.
Levels of care include medically supervised detox, residential treatment, and intensive inpatient care, with medication-assisted treatment available when clinically appropriate. A 10-day assessment program offers a diagnostic-driven entry point for individuals and families still determining the right level of care.
Treatment is individualized and delivered through evidence-based and experiential modalities, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, ACT, motivational interviewing, attachment-based and trauma-specific therapy, individual and group counseling, family therapy, equine-assisted therapy, and holistic services such as yoga, meditation, acupuncture, and massage. A three-day in-person family workshop addresses shame, codependency, and relapse prevention, with virtual family therapy and collaboration on discharge planning.
Aftercare includes continuing care planning, weekly alumni groups, quarterly in-person workshops led by credentialed clinicians, and ongoing check-ins with an alumni coordinator.
Alta Mira is veteran led, pet friendly, and LGBTQ+ affirming, and maintains a flexible technology policy with clinical sign-off. The program is in-network with Kaiser Permanente and TriWest Healthcare Alliance and also works with private pay and out-of-network benefits.
Admissions are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Call (833) 315-6418.
