About
- Founded in 2014
Banyan Alaska is an outpatient addiction treatment center dedicated to supporting Veterans and others in need of recovery, with optional community housing available. We believe every individual, especially those who have served our country, deserves compassionate, high-quality care. Our comprehensive programs are designed to address substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and related life challenges.
Through a personalized, integrative approach, our experienced team delivers a variety of evidence-based therapies tailored to each client's unique needs. We also coordinate closely with Veterans’ external providers to ensure seamless, ongoing care throughout the recovery journey.

I stayed for 6 months and it was my first residential treatment. While there were some small things being ironed out (understandable since they are only a couple years old), this was an incredibly place for me to unwind and put all the skills I’d learned from the many one-month inpatients I’d done in the past. They provide a small campus with residential buildings and a clinical building so you don’t get confined in a building for months, and they have weekly outings.
Make it your own treatment, I say, just don’t give up!!
I wasn’t sure what to expect coming here for the first time, but it was a great time. The staff was amazing, and everyone made it a great time. This is the most I’ve ever gotten out of therapy, and I am thankful to have come here.
The reason I Chose Banyan was the openness of their programs here in Wasilla. Not only with the clinical side but also the social side. You really get to spend time sharing with others in the group setting and feeling comfortable talking through your difficulties/struggles. This had been a wonderful experience. The staff are great, fun, open and make you feel at ease.. highly recommend!.,
I came to Banyan after trying 2 other treatment centers and this place was by far the best. You are a real person to them and not just a number. The staff is amazing and they handled any issues that arose in a timely and professional manner. It's not just for veterans, I was one of the only non-vet during my stay and I felt very welcomed. A few staff members deserve special recognition as they made the biggest impact on me:
The case manager was extremely hard working and handled everyone's needs with appointments and aftercare plans. The intake coordinator went above and beyond to make us all feel comfortable and special as individuals.
And of course, my therapist was especially amazing and made herself available to me anytime I needed during clinical hours. She provided a safe and comfortable environment for me to grow and heal.

Banyan is an up and coming force in Alaska and they bring with them the knowledge and skills to help active duty service members and veterans above and beyond anything else offered here. From a leadership standpoint with another agency in the community, I see Banyan doing great things in our great state! They're easy to work with and take referrals from our agency without question.
