About

  • Founded in 2020

Tucked away in the peaceful coastal town of Astoria, Oregon, Virtue at the Pointe offers a calm, healing environment designed to support your recovery journey. Our facility blends comfort, privacy, and scenic beauty to help you feel safe, grounded, and at ease from the moment you arrive.

Each room is thoughtfully furnished with a queen-sized bed, private bathroom, and amenities to ensure a restful stay. Both male and female detox areas include TVs and their own private baths. Common areas in each wing offer a variety of entertainment options, so there's always a place to relax and connect with others in recovery.

What truly sets Virtue at the Pointe apart are the views—our group rooms overlook the city and the iconic Astoria-Megler Bridge, providing an inspiring backdrop to healing work.

Our program includes:

  • Chemical dependency education
  • Mental health support for anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other mood disorders
  • Holistic therapies like yoga, art therapy, and music therapy to help you find new outlets for expression and healthy coping skills
  • Here, recovery isn’t just clinical—it’s personal, expressive, and rooted in lasting transformation.

VATP Milwaukie: Outpatient Recovery with a Personal Touch

At Virtue at the Pointe’s Milwaukie Outpatient Facility, we believe recovery should happen in a space that feels safe, welcoming, and real—more like home than a hospital. Whether you’re stepping down from inpatient care or need flexible support while managing daily life, our Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs offer structure, connection, and expert guidance.

We take a trauma-informed, whole-person approach to treatment, combining proven methods like:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
  • Holistic practices including mindfulness, movement therapy, and stress reduction techniques

For those navigating both substance use and mental health challenges, we provide dual diagnosis care—because healing the mind is just as important as healing the body. And for our Veterans, we offer specialized programs that honor and address the unique challenges of life after service.

No matter where you are in your recovery, VATP Milwaukie offers expert care in a setting built to help you grow, rebuild, and thrive.

Testimonials

Had a very difficult problem whole at virtue Milwaukie. Was withdrawing and the. Accused of using drugs. This my firs probelm 2nd the nursing staff would tell me they would meet with me due to medical reasons I needed to go to appointments. Never did till I went off them. The program it's self was ok but a waste of time at points. Some days sitting around not doing anything. They never seemed to know what was going on around there with the peor in charge. I wod recommend to.not waste.your.time.

Virtue at the Pointe Recovery Center is highly recommended. I began my journey at their inpatient treatment facility in Astoria Oregon and transferred to the Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program in Milwauke Oregon. The staff is second to none. I was treated with dignity and kindness. The primary focus is on the current and future well-being of their clients. It's not hard to see that immediately. There are classes 5 days per week and a fun experiential outing every Saturday. The counselors are well informed and strive at every juncture to help their clients. Campus housing is amazing. The houses are set in residential neighborhoods with no clinical feel at all. Safe and leisurely time away from the classroom is relaxing. All in all, the recovery value and level of care cannot be rivalled by any other company. And I never received a bill as a veteran of the United States military....

I was at Virtue for the full 6 month program. They are a fairly new program but some protocols should have been in place before the doors opened. For example, a friend of mine in the program was informed via email by the BHTs that he needed to grab his toothbrush, a change of clothes and move to C house that afternoon. He was 9 days from graduation, perfect client, participated in class, never broke any rules. He left the next day. When I spoke to Al the building manager he stated that one of his subordinates had “dropped the ball”. His second excuse was the client had left class early so he could not inform him.? The house is a 15 minutes drive? I request a grievance form from the BHT. I had graduated 3 weeks earlier and was there to pick up my car. Al (don’t know his last name because it is not listed on the contact sheet) refused to give me one because I was no longer a client...

Virtue at the Point both detox/inpatient and their 6 month partial hospitalization/IOP program for veterans is by far the best I’ve seen and experienced in 20 years. They helped guide, diagnosed, and properly medicate me making more progress in 6 months than the previous 18 years at the VA. My heart goes out to the kind staff, wonderful counselors, BHT’s and everyone in between. If you’re a Veteran and you know the pain and suffering of duel diagnosis and service related issues both physical and or mental please consider virtue. You’ll never regret the decision. My personal thanks to all at virtue for helping me change my life. I now work in the recovery / medical field and find myself headed in a direction I never would have thought possible. I also now have VASH, completed my Peer Wellness Specialist State certification for addictions and mental health, my CRM… certified...
